The staff in the Office of Global Education support international students from the
time they commit to attending Goucher College through graduation and beyond. We want
to ensure students and scholars adjust to university life in the United States, understand
the immigration regulations, and are a part of the larger community. We honor and
celebrate the various cultures and perspectives that our students bring to campus
from throughout the world.
In order to support our international community, we host InterConnect, the international student orientation program each semester. We provide individual advising, workshops, resources, advocacy, and social and cultural programs. Advising topics may involve immigration regulations, academic expectations, campus resources, financial matters, and personal and cross-cultural communication concerns.
We welcome you to join us for our Global Conversation Hours, trips along the East
Coast, community dinners, and various religious celebrations. Our students also benefit
from connections with international alumnae/i and leadership development through Goucher’s
International Student Association (GISA), other campus organizations, athletic team
participation, and student employment.
